Therapy is one of the most intentional gifts you can give yourself
It’s also one of the smartest investments you can make in your clarity, your relationships, and your long-term well-being.
The Harvard Study of Adult Development, the longest-running study on human happiness, found that the quality of our relationships is the single strongest predictor of health and fulfillment across the lifespan, even more than genetics, social class, IQ, or lifestyle factors.
When you choose to do this work, I meet your commitment with equal care. I protect our time, bring full attention to each session, and focus not only on what we explore but how we work together. We’ll move at a thoughtful pace, tailor the process to your goals, and aim for change that feels steady and lasting, the kind that reshapes how you relate to yourself and to the people you love.

Why I Choose to Stay Private Pay
I choose not to work with insurance because my priority is the depth, privacy, and integrity of our work together. I want our time to be guided by what you truly need, not by a diagnosis code, a treatment limit, or a checklist. Private pay allows me to keep a selective caseload, offer flexible scheduling, and devote meaningful attention to the between session work such as case formulation, notes, planning, reflection, and coordination that strengthens the therapy.
You deserve a therapy experience that feels intentional, warm, and deeply attuned rather than rushed, pressured, or shaped by insurance requirements. Many clients also prefer to stay private pay to protect their confidentiality and to have more freedom in the direction and pace of the work.
Most health plans also do not cover couples counseling. Insurance requires an identified patient and a mental health diagnosis, and there is no reimbursable code for relationship therapy. Even when therapists are in network, couples work is almost always excluded.
Investing in Yourself
Therapy is one of the most meaningful investments you can make in your peace of mind, your relationships, and your future self.
Use pre-tax dollars. Your HSA or FSA can often be used for therapy, making it a tax-advantaged way to prioritize your health.
Optimize your taxes. Ask your tax preparer whether therapy may qualify as a deductible out-of-pocket medical expense.
Invest with intention. Therapy offers lasting returns in clarity, decision-making, and relational health. The cost of unresolved stress, burnout, or disconnection far exceeds the fee.
Payment options: Private pay by credit, debit, or HSA/FSA card.
Good Faith Estimate
In compliance with the No Surprises Act that went into effect January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers are required to notify clients of their Federal rights and protections against “surprise billing.” This Act requires that I notify you of your federally protected rights to receive a notification when services are rendered by an out-of-network provider, if a client is uninsured, or if a client elects not to use their insurance.
